What is Mussike?

Mussike is a chord progression builder for songwriters and self-taught musicians. You can explore 200+ curated progressions, build your own, arrange them into a song structure, and export to MIDI.

Do I need music theory knowledge to use Mussike?

No. Mussike is designed for musicians who write by ear. You pick a root note, explore progressions, and hear what sounds good — no theory required.

Is Mussike free to use?

Yes. You can explore progressions and use the core tools for free. A Pro plan with advanced features is coming soon.

How do I create an account?

Click Sign Up in the top right corner, enter your email and a password, and you are in. No credit card required.

How many progressions are available?

Mussike has 200+ curated chord progressions organized by genre, mood, and scale. New progressions are added regularly.

Can I filter progressions by genre or mood?

Yes. Use the filter options in the Progressions section to browse by genre, mood, or scale type.

Can I build my own progression?

Yes. In the composer, you can drag notes within the scale to create your own progression. Mussike identifies the harmony in real time.

Are progressions shown in a specific key?

All progressions are currently displayed in C major. Transposition to any root note is a feature coming in a future update.

Why is there no sound when I press play?

Make sure your device volume is on and not muted. Some browsers require a user interaction before allowing audio — try clicking anywhere on the page first, then press play again.

The audio sounds delayed or choppy. What can I do?

This can happen on slower connections since audio samples are loaded from an external CDN. Try refreshing the page and waiting a few seconds before playing.

Which instrument sound does Mussike use?

Mussike uses a piano soundfont for playback. More instrument options are planned for future versions.

How do I sign in to my account?

Click Sign In in the top right corner and enter your email and password. If you have forgotten your password, use the reset link on the sign-in page.

How do I reset my password?

On the sign-in page, click Forgot password, enter your email, and follow the instructions sent to your inbox.

How do I delete my account?

To delete your account, contact us at the Contact page and we will process your request within 48 hours.

Can I export my progressions to a DAW?

MIDI export is a feature coming in the Pro plan. Once available, you will be able to export any progression or full song as a MIDI file compatible with Ableton, Logic, GarageBand, and any other DAW.

Which DAWs are compatible with Mussike MIDI export?

Any DAW that accepts standard MIDI files will work — including Ableton Live, Logic Pro, GarageBand, FL Studio, and Reaper.
